How Does BodyBoss Work?

To use the system you simply unfold the base and place it on the floor. It’s fitted with non-slip grips so can be used on different surface types. Then clip the bands to the appropriate metal rings in the base using the caribinas attached to the bands. Next clip whichever attachment you want to use to the opposite end of the bands in the same way. You can also thread the bands through the rings in the base to shorten them if required and away you go.

Using the door attachment will allow you to increase the range of exercises available beyond having to use the base, and will give you different angles to target muscles and areas of the body in ways that aren’t possible using the base alone.

BodyBoss 5

The BodyBoss 2.0 makes over 300 exercises possible according to the manufacturer. These can be made gradually and progressively more difficult over time. This is simply done by shortening the bands working use by weaving them through unused rings in the base. Exercise difficulty can also be increased more dramatically by adding more than one band to any exercise.

BodyBoss is a variable resistance training system. Variable resistance requires altering degrees of force to be applied to the target muscles to create constant resistance, which compels the muscles to work harder to meet the demands of the exercise. Variable resistance exercise is designed to achieve maximum muscular involvement and is often used in rehabilitation and to slow the onset of osteoporosis with some believing and claiming with this training, the condition can be reversed.

To perform the exercises you simply do so as you would using conventional weights and tailor your workout to your needs. If you’re experienced and have your own workouts or a good exercise knowledge you should be able to get in to a consistent routine straight away. If not, there is the option of the free Start-Up Exercise Program that can be fully accessed online using the URL supplied on Part 1 of the program that comes supplied on paper with the system. There are live exercise classes streamed online and a large social network on the BodyBoss Instagram profile to follow and get all the exercise ideas, and workouts you need and more.

What Does BodyBoss Do?

As mentioned the BodyBoss 2.0 can be used to perform over 300 different exercises using the bands and equipment it comes supplied with so you’re able exercise all the muscle groups of the body which is impressive for a compact piece of equipment. Below is a brief overview of these groups.

Upper body; Chest, Shoulders, Traps, Lats and Lower Back. Lower body; Glutes, Quads, Hamstrings and Calves. You can also effectively exercise the Core, Abs and Arms.

BodyBoss 3

What is particularly good about the BodyBoss according to buyers reviews is the ability it gives you to perform big barbell based exercises at home using the collapsible bar. These exercises such as squats, are only possible at the gym for most people. This pretty much gives users a damn near gym quality barbell squat anywhere they want. It’s also possible to perform different variations such as the front squat or split squat too.

The same can be said for other barbell exercises such as the overhead press and bent over barbell rows which are also possible with the BodyBoss 2.0 Home Gym! The system can be used with a bench or exercise ball making the bench press and its variations as well as other exercises possible in your home workout routine.

As almost all major compound exercises can be performed with the BodyBoss, this suggests its a legitimate piece of fitness equipment. BodyBoss also have huge sales figures and their 10.8k+ Instagram following to back that up. There you’ll find more visual evidence of how versatile the system is with users exercising in various locations like at home, outside and in classes and gyms.

What Can You Achieve With BodyBoss?

One of the best things about BodyBoss is its versatility and the ability it gives you to do all those gym only, or space and equipment dependent exercises like squats and other barbell exercises. You’re also able to change resistance levels by small amounts to increase difficulty and your progression gradually. The product seems to cater for a wide range of physical ability, even with former weightlifters being satisfied they can train to a sufficient standard with it.

Customers mentioned how easy it was to change the style of workout they wanted to do. So you could concentrate on strength, where you’d use a high resistance and low reps, or hypertrophy (muscle growth and body building) based workouts with slightly less resistance and slightly more reps. It’s also possible to do high rep interval or timed HIIT workouts where you can really target fat burn and an increased cardio focus.

BodyBoss 2

Although its absolutely possible to build muscle with this product, if you are a seasoned weightlifter this is not going to replace the gym and the weight available there but it does serve as a highly useful replacement at times when a gym is not available as its very portable.

Users with fitness experience have said how comparable using the BodyBoss 2.0 is to their gym workouts and how they feel it gives an excellent workout and results. Newcomers are also very happy with how it performs and how easy it is to use to learn to exercise with. This is the overwhelming consensus, however contrary to this some do say the opposite and that includes those with experience and those with none.

For the majority of individuals you could expect to see significant improvements in fitness, strength and muscle mass if you used the BodyBoss correctly and with dedication. Just the same as you would in any other fitness program, you will get out of it what you put in to it. What BodyBoss has over the competition is versatility, low cost and a decent social media following which when taken advantage of can lead to great results.

The BodyBoss seems to be a very good option for a home gym for quite a lot of reasons, some of which you have mentioned. I’d like to be able to do the equivalent of by gym workouts at home too.

    1. Hello and thank you. I learnt a lot writing this article.

As mentioned, you can train the whole body using over 300 exercises. It’s designed to give you a gym quality workout at home enabling you to perform all the core exercises most people can only do at a gym and many more so if you have a gym workout already you could perform it with the BodyBoss at home for example.

      Have a great day too!

  2. Hi,

Thank you for your article. I did find it very useful.

I struggle with resistance training as I find the gym very intimidating, and I know it’s very important for me to do some strength training as I’m trying to gain some weight and get stronger. What I do like about the product is that I can use it indoors and don’t require a lot of space to train. I do agree that this is a GREAT alternative to taking out a gym membership as it cuts out the costs, sweaty people and bad music. LOL
